On Thursday, Alianza Lima made their debut in the Copa Libertadores Femenina and lost 2-0 to Deportivo Cali in the match held in Asunción after goals from Tatiana Ariza and Fralyn Quintero in favor of the Colombian team.
After the match, Alison Reyes, defender and captain of the blanquiazul team, referred to the course of the match: "The team played very well today, they showed what we are made of. We have come to compete in this Copa Libertadores, we want to advance to the second phase and make history with the Peruvian team," she said to the Copa Libertadores press.
Furthermore, Reyes indicated that, beyond the poor result, the attitude of the team is commendable: "The team gave everything until the end, and that's the greatness of this team that will never give up."
As a reminder, Alianza Lima has two more matches to play. The next one will be against Universidad de Chile on November 7th at 3:30 pm (Peruvian time). Meanwhile, the third and final group stage match will be against Real Tomayapo from Bolivia on November 10th at 5:45 pm (Peruvian time).
