Ronald Koeman is no longer the coach of Barcelona. Last Wednesday, President Joan Laporta decided to part ways with him after another defeat in LaLiga, this time against Rayo Vallecano.
The Dutch manager Ronald Koeman had a contract at Barcelona until mid-2022. Although there was mutual agreement for his departure, the club will have to pay a large sum of money to the coach's bank account.
According to reports from the newspaper Sport, the release clause for the Barcelona coach was set at 5.8 million euros. Additionally, he had an annual salary of 7.2 million euros, so the club will have to pay him 13 million in the medium term.

Furthermore, it is reported that Xavi Hernández, who is likely to replace him, could only earn 2.9 million euros as a salary due to the club's new salary policy.
On the other hand, Barcelona made it official that Sergi Barjuan, the current coach of the reserve team, will be the new interim coach of the first team. He led Thursday's training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
"He will temporarily take charge of the technical direction of the first team, and the interim period in the dugout of the first team will end when the club concludes the hiring of a new coach after Ronald Koeman's dismissal," explains the club's statement.
In addition, the President of Barcelona introduced him to the squad just before this afternoon's training, and he will accompany him at the press conference on Friday.
Barjuan (Les Franqueses del Vallès, 1971), a product of Barcelona's youth academy, was a player for the first team from 1993 to 2002 and ended his career on the field at Atletico Madrid, where he spent three years.
