An unusual event happened this morning during a live broadcast of America News. Journalist Romina Caballero went to Leoncio Prado Urbanization, in the district of Rimac, to gather statements from residents about the insecurity in the area.
Residents of Leoncio Prado Urbanization denounce that the immediate surveillance post is not working and they demand that the authorities review their case due to the constant assaults recorded by the security cameras.
Just when the América TV reporter was interviewing the residents, a young man, who works as a taxi driver for a mobile application, approached to report that he was assaulted a few minutes ago.
The young man stated that he accepted a ride in Habich and when he arrived at the destination, they asked him about the price of the ride. It was then that one of them took advantage to choke him with a belt while the others took his belongings.
All this happened a few meters away from the immediate surveillance post and in broad daylight. The taxi driver reported that his cell phone and wallet were stolen, which contained credit cards and cash.
It is worth mentioning that all this was recorded by the security cameras and, according to the National Police of Peru, it is a matter of time to locate the foreign culprits.
