In the first leg, held at Estadio 3 de Marzo, they drew 1-1, but in the second leg, at Estadio Azteca, Las Águilas won 6-3, giving them a 7-4 lead in the overall score.
The remaining four finals he faced were with Cruz Azul, the team he joined in the Apertura 2009. In his first tournament as a Celeste, he contested the title against Monterrey. Rayados won 4-3 in the first leg and 2-1 in the second leg, resulting in a 6-4 victory for La Pandilla.
Corona and América met again in the Clausura 2013 and once again the cup belonged to Azulcrema. The Cementeros won 1-0 at Estadio Azul, but in the second leg, Las Águilas won 2-1 to send the series to extra time and then penalties, where the Emplumados prevailed 4-2.
