MEXICO -- Concacaf will financially support Arcahaie from Haiti so they can travel to Mexico and play the second game of the series against Cruz Azul in the Concacaf Champions League.

According to sources close to Cruz Azul, Concacaf will support the Caribbean team so they can fulfill their commitment in the Concacaf Champions League after they expressed that they didn't have the necessary resources to travel and play the second match of the Round of 16.

Arcahaie, as it was reported, had difficulties gathering the $150,000 needed to be in Mexico, and Concacaf has committed to support the Haitian team.

The Haitian team will travel to Mexico City on Monday to play the second leg against Cruz Azul at Estadio Azteca. The Caribbean team is facing economic problems, just like the rest of the country, due to the geopolitical crisis they are going through.

The first leg was not played in Haiti because Arcahaie's stadium was not in good condition, so a venue in the Dominican Republic was used to play the match against Cruz Azul.

The Haitian team is one of the most surprising teams in the Concacaf Champions League, as they managed to draw in the first leg against Cruz Azul, the leader of the Mexican League who just achieved 12 consecutive victories in the local tournament.

Cruz Azul will seek to advance to the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Champions League next Tuesday against Arcahaie, a modest team looking to make history against the best club in the current Liga MX tournament.
