The Former Wide Receiver of the San Diego Chargers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vincent Jackson Found Dead

The three-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver Vincent Jackson, during a 12-season career in the NFL, was found dead in a hotel in Florida on Monday, the police reported.

A statement from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office stated that the former player, 38 years old, was discovered in a hotel room in Brandon, east of Tampa, early Monday morning by a housekeeper.

The local medical examiner's office has not yet confirmed the cause of death, but a statement states that Jackson's body showed "no signs of trauma".

The player had been reported missing by his family last Thursday, but the police located him in the same hotel where he appeared dead days later, evaluated him, and closed the case, according to the statement.

"My heart aches for the many loved ones Vincent Jackson leaves behind, from his wife and children to the nation of Buccaneers fans who adored him," stated Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister.

Jackson began his career with the Chargers in 2005 after being selected in the second round of the draft. He earned Pro-Bowl selections in 2009, 2011, and 2012. He joined Tampa Bay in 2012 and played his last game with the club in 2016 after suffering a knee injury. AFP
