The new reinforcement of Liga de Quito, Juan Cruz Kaprof, arrived in the country and underwent medical check-ups, before signing the contract with the albos, a club that "seduced" the Argentine offensive player with the opportunity to "fight for championships".

"It's a great opportunity and I'm going to take advantage of it," said the 25-year-old player, who comes from Calcio Lecco, an Italian club in the third division.

Kaprof is "seduced" by the trajectory of the albos. "I liked the opportunity to play in the Copa Libertadores and the squad that Liga has to compete in championships, that's why when they mentioned the club to me, I didn't hesitate," he said.

The Argentine admitted that despite having offers from European clubs and his home country, he decided to play for Liga based on the recommendation of Azucena midfielder Ezequiel Piovi.

"In Argentina, you hear a lot about Liga, but I talked to Piovi, a friend (Arsenal, 2019) who told me about the club, the city, and the fans. I already knew what Liga was like, but coming from him, the recommendations were very important," he pointed out.

The player underwent medical check-ups, saying he arrives in good physical condition, although in the past two weeks, he has been working out on his own after terminating his contract with the Italian team.

"I trained and worked in my own way, but you don't lose your rhythm in two weeks, so I arrive well," said Kaprof, who will seek to adapt to the altitude training in order to "get started as quickly as possible with the team," he said.

About his position on the field, the Argentine indicated that he feels "more comfortable as an attacking midfielder, playing behind the number nine," but he also clarified that "I don't mind any position" in the attack.

With his arrival, coach Pablo Repetto has a complete team for this season, with the option awaiting the repatriation of Anderson Julio, whose situation should be resolved in the next few hours, in agreement with his club, San Luis from the Mexican league. (D)
