The attacking midfielder Fidel Martínez won the award for the best goal of the 2020 edition of the Copa Libertadores. The way to decide the author of the best goal of the season was through a survey on the Libertadores' Twitter account.
In addition to Martínez, the list included the Uruguayan Jonathan Urretaviscaya from Peñarol, the Venezuelan Yeferson Soteldo from Santos, and the Brazilian Breno Lopes, the author of the goal in the final that gave the title to his club, Palmeiras.
The 30-year-old Ecuadorian won the survey with 48% of the votes, followed by Lopes with 41%. Soteldo's goal was left behind with 8% and in the end, Jonathan Urretaviscaya with only 3%.

The tricolor Martínez, forward of Barcelona Sporting Club until last August, was the winner of the top scorer trophy of the tournament after scoring eight goals in the preliminary phase of the 2020 Libertadores.
His goal, which was nominated as the best of the tournament edition, came in the second leg of the final round before reaching the group stage against Cerro Porteño. In that match, the canaries won 4-0 and secured their spot in the next phase.
Fidel Martínez led a counterattack, faced a defender one on one, and dribbled past him to finish with his right foot over the Uruguayan-Paraguayan goalkeeper Rodrigo Muñoz. (D)
