Wolverhampton qualifies for the FA Cup round of 16
The Wolverhampton qualified for the FA Cup round of 16 after narrowly defeating Chorley 1-0 on Friday in the corresponding match of the FA Cup round of 32.
Chorley, who caused a surprise in the last round of the tournament by defeating the Derby County from the second division, put an end to their love affair with this competition.
The home team had phases of dominance against a Wolves side without ideas or intensity, but they lacked depth and quality to break through Ruddy's goal.
Wolverhampton, who is going through a streak of six winless league matches, defeated the underdog of the tournament thanks to a flash of brilliance from the young Portuguese player Vitinha, who scored a beautiful goal in the twelfth minute.
Under the guidance of manager Nuno Espirito Santo, the team qualified for the round of 16, but the humble English team exposed their deficiencies in aerial disputes and ball distribution under pressure. EFE
