With the official announcement of midfielder Joe Gallardo as a reinforcement for the Guard1anes Clausura-2021 tournament, Querétaro's Gallos Blancos intend to be contenders in the Liga MX season. This is a season in which León will want to retain their title as monarchs, while América will seek to put things in order in Mexican football with the appointment of Argentine coach Santiago Solari on the American bench.
Under the guidance of Héctor Altamirano, the Gallos began to assemble their squad in November 2020 with the signing of Ecuadorian winger Jefferson Montero, and a few days later with the stellar signing of right-back Antonio Valencia, former captain of Manchester United.
Valencia, with a long career in European clubs and standing out in his victorious spell at English club United, is 35 years old and has been inactive for five months after agreeing to leave Liga de Quito on July 4 of last year.

Meanwhile, Montero (31 years old) arrived at Querétaro from the English second division, the Championship.
Before Joe Gallardo, a Mexican-American who comes from playing with the Real Monarchs of the United Soccer League (second division in the United States), Altamirano's team signed Uruguayan forward Jonathan Dos Santos, who had a standout season in 2020 with the Peruvian Universitario de Deportes, where he scored 14 goals in 26 matches.
With the arrival of Gallardo, Querétaro adds its sixth reinforcement ahead of the start of the Clausura-2021, which begins on Friday, January 8 with the match between Puebla and Chivas Guadalajara (20:30 Ecuador time).
The Gallos Blancos will make their debut in the Guard1anes Clausura on Sunday (13:00 Ecuador time) at the Toluca stadium. (D)
