Gimnasia LP reported this Sunday that players Matías García and Brahian Alemán tested positive for Covid-19, after the usual swabs prior to each game.
"The tests yielded positive results for players Matías García and Brahian Alemán. They are asymptomatic, they are already isolated and their clinical condition will be monitored by our Club's medical staff until their full recovery", reported the Lobo through a statement.
Gimnasia will face Talleres on Monday for Matchday 3 of Group B in the Championship Zone of the Diego Maradona Cup.
In addition, the club clarified that there were no more cases outside the professional team:
"The swabs yielded negative results for the rest of the players, coaching staff, and male football work staff. (...) On Saturday, players Horacio Tijanovich, Matías Gómez, and fitness coach Ignacio Dahul tested positive for COVID-19. They showed symptoms during the morning and were tested. They are in good health, will remain isolated, and will be continuously monitored by our Club's medical staff until their full recovery"
