The participation of both players in the Concacaf Champions League is at risk after the obtained results
This Tuesday was bad news in the América camp because it was confirmed that Rubén González and Mauro Lainez tested positive for Covid-19 and their participation in the final phase of the CONCACAF Champions League is at risk.
Through a statement, América informed that out of the 58 tests performed, there were only two positive cases corresponding to 'Oso' González and the newcomer Mauro Lainez. Both players have been isolated and will follow the protocols established by Liga MX and CONCACAF to recover as soon as possible.
Both players were registered in América's final roster for the tournament, but their participation is not certain because they must go through a quarantine period. In the case of Mauro Lainez, the player hasn't even had a single training session with his new teammates, which complicates his participation in the North and Central American club tournament.
América will continue working at the Coapa training facility and will perform another round of PCR tests to rule out any other contagion before traveling to Orlando, Florida next weekend.
