The Real Zaragoza has signed Uruguayan winger Jorge Luis Diaz

The Real Zaragoza has closed the signing of Uruguayan winger Jorge Luis Diaz, who arrives at La Romareda with his release letter after terminating his contract with Albacete last Tuesday. Therefore, Diaz, 25 years old and with Spanish nationality, will play next season for the Aragonese team, which could even make his incorporation official in the coming hours, once he has passed the necessary medical examination.

The player also had an offer from Almería on the table, in addition to the interest of Betis, who already tried to sign him in the last winter transfer market. Jorge Diaz has played 32 games this season, scoring five goals, all of them before the Christmas break, the last one against Real Zaragoza in the 2-2 draw at Carlos Belmonte. Afterwards, the Uruguayan player lost prominence in Luis Cesar Sampedro's starting eleven.

He is a right winger, although he usually plays on the left side to be able to go both outside and inside and thus take advantage of his good shot. He is fast, with quality and dribbling, and this will be his second season in the Second Division. Jorge Diaz was born on June 28, 1989 in Montevideo, but at an early age he moved to Spain, where he played in the lower categories of Cambrils, a club with which he made his debut in 2007. Two years later he signed for Amposta in the Third Division and at the end of the season he was signed by the reserve team of Reus, which soon incorporated him into the first team, with which he achieved promotion to Segunda B in 2011.

After half a season in the bronze category, he was transferred to Espanyol B in the winter market of 2012, and a year later he joined Albacete, the club with which he eventually ascended to the Second Division one year later, in the 2013-14 season. Now, after two and a half years in Castilla-La Mancha, he decided to terminate his contract with Albacete to sign for Real Zaragoza and fight for promotion to La Liga.
