Ahead of tonight's match between América and Chivas, Víctor Manuel Vucetich surprised and placed Oribe Peralta and Cristian Calderón as starters in the search for progression to the next round.

The Guadalajara strategist was forced to make modifications to his initial scheme by using a lineup that he had never tested throughout the tournament.

The main surprise in Chivas' starting eleven is in the offensive part, as 'Rey Midas' decided to use Oribe Peralta as the attacking axis, a move he had not made throughout the season.

In addition, another player who secured a place in the starting eleven was Cristian Calderón, who took the position on the left wing instead of the injured Jesús Ángulo, who missed tonight's match due to a muscle injury.

Another novelty in Guadalajara's scheme is midfielder Eduardo Torres, who appeared as a starter after Víctor Vucetich decided to put Fernando Beltrán on the bench. Additionally, forward Ángel Zaldívar did not make the match squad.

With these modifications, Chivas will not have surprises in the defensive part of their starting eleven, as for tonight's match, Raúl Gudiño remains in goal, with Hiram Mier and Gilberto Sepúlveda as center-backs, and Jesús Sánchez and Miguel Ponce on the wings.

In Rebaño Sagrado's bench, the newcomers are the young players Luis Olivas, Adrián Villalobos, and Óscar Macías, along with Antonio Briseño, Antonio Rodríguez, José Madueña, and Ronaldo Cisneros.

Another player on the bench is forward Alexis Vega, who was called up after the coaching staff determined to use him if necessary, as the player has not fully recovered from an ankle sprain.

On the other hand, América presented the following lineup: Ochoa; Sánchez, Cáceres, Aguilera, Cáseres; Escoboza, Richard, Córdova, Giovani; Viñas, and Martín.
