Diego Milito has announced that he will leave Racing's Technical Secretariat in December.

Diego Milito announced on Sunday that he will no longer be the technical secretary of Racing after the club's elections on December 20.

"I have made the decision not to continue as the Technical Secretary of the club, starting from the next administration. The reason is very simple: I do not agree with the club's model or the ideas of the president," said the idol of Racing in a video posted on his Instagram account.

"I have nothing personal against Víctor Blanco (the president). He simply chooses a project model that I do not agree with, but he has the power to choose the guidelines for the club," added the former Genoa and Inter footballer, in Italy, and Real Zaragoza, in Spain.

"This situation has been going on for a while. I got involved three years ago to try to persuade and show a different path, one of professionalization in a fundamental area. I believe it has been successful," clarified Milito, who took on that role in 2017 after retiring as a footballer.

"What we should discuss are models, ideas, and projects. I tried to convince the president to leave behind old policies, those of ruses, destabilization, and self-destructive and unnecessary operations for our club. I seek a different club: one of evolution, technology, teamwork, good communication, and connection with the world. Investment should not be considered an expense," he explained about his decision.

"Why announce it now, on the eve of such an important match? I thought about it all week and said, 'Moments are not chosen, they happen, and I am transparent and do not speculate with a sporting result.' My departure is far from being due to one, two, or three adverse results. My commitment to the club, players, this coaching staff, and these players will be until the end," he added regarding the timing, a few days before the first leg match against Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores round of 16.

"I am far from encouraging disunity, quite the opposite. I have demonstrated it since my return as a player in 2014, adhering to and promoting 'Racing Positivo' at every step, because beyond the differences, we must always help the club. Never forget that Racing's greatest asset is its people. I ask you not to cause trouble and to continue united until the end, supporting the team. Let's give everything for the colors and for the dream we all have, the Copa Libertadores," he concluded. EFE
