Argentinian Pablo Trobbiani becomes the new coach of Liga de Portoviejo
Argentinian Pablo Trobbiani took over as head coach of Liga de Portoviejo after the resignation of his compatriot, Marcelo Zuleta, the team reported on their Twitter account.
Zuleta was only in charge of the Manabi squad for 15 days. He arrived in Portoviejo after resigning from El Nacional, which is fighting relegation. El Nacional is in 14th place with 19 points, the same as Deportivo Cuenca and Liga (P).
"Given the unexpected resignation of coach Zuleta, which is public knowledge and for which we thank him for his services as head coach of the first team, we inform that the board has quickly worked on hiring a new coach with the required profile to achieve the goals set by the institution. We have officially welcomed the Spanish-Argentinian coach Pablo Trobbiani, a young coach (43 years old) with a lot of potential, and we wish him success, which will also be ours," said the green and white team in a statement.
Pablo began his coaching career as an assistant coach to his father, Marcelo Trobbiani, in 2008 at Cienciano club in Peru. He has also been a manager and coordinator of training divisions for Elche team in Spain in 2011, Defensa y Justicia team in Argentina in 2012, Estudiantes de La Plata team in Argentina in 2013, Cobreloa team in Chile in 2014, and Barcelona Sporting Club in 2017.
This will be his fourth experience as a coach of a first division club after his time at Cobreloa (from August to September in 2014), Guayaquil City (from November to December in 2016), and Toreros FC (second division of Ecuador in 2018). (D)
