Jasper Philipsen wins stage 15 of La Vuelta a España
The young Belgian cyclist Jasper Philipsen (UAE Emirates) won the sprint on Thursday in the fifteenth stage of La Vuelta a España, the longest stage of the race, with 230 kilometers, between Mos and Puebla de Sanabria.
The red leader's jersey remains in the possession of Slovenian Primoz Roglic, three days away from the arrival in Madrid, after this transition stage in which the 22-year-old Philipsen preceded the Germans Pascal Ackermann and Jannik Steimle in the sprint on a false flat, finishing second and third respectively.
Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz remains in second place in the general standings, chasing leader Roglic with a 39-second difference between them. In Thursday's stage, Carapaz finished in 64th place. (D)
