Rubert Quijada: "I want Venezuelans to feel part of Alianza Lima"
Rubert Quijada, who arrived in Peru this year to defend the colors of Alianza Lima, spoke in an interview with the UNHCR – the UN refugee agency – in which his statements calling on his compatriots to identify with the victorian team attracted a lot of attention.
"I want Venezuelans to feel part of Alianza Lima, although, if they like another club, there is no problem," said the 31-year-old central defender.

In the same way, he spoke about the xenophobia that Venezuelan citizens suffer in Peruvian lands or in different countries of the continent.

In addition, he highlighted the importance of Alianza Lima in the country because he felt what it means to play for them since he set foot in Lima in the summer of 2020.
"I didn't know how big Alianza is or how humane people can be. You can feel the warmth of the fans from the airport. Even on your way to classes, they greet you or shout 'Arriba Alianza'," said the football player.
