"I am grateful to 'Turco' for everything, he is my father in football; he recommended me to go to Mexican football and I am grateful, it will be an honor to greet him and face him," he said at a press conference.

The Blue team, led by Uruguayan strategist Robert Dante Siboldi, second in the standings, will visit the home of Monterrey, the league champion, in one of their main matches of the year, which, if they win, will confirm the celestial team among the top four in the table and secure direct qualification to the playoffs.

Aguilar explained that defeating Guadalajara last weekend does not change much because the group remained united and strong in the previous three games, of which they lost two and drew one.

"I never saw the players under pressure; we have always worked in the same way, we haven't changed the way we train; week after week we give 1000 percent. I understand that we didn't win some games, but I always saw my teammates motivated, trusting the work, and we knew that we would retake winning at any moment," he added.

Aguilar returned to the Cruz Azul lineup recovered from a serious knee injury and showed good form in the victory of the celestial team, 0-2 away from home against Guadalajara, however, on Thursday he confessed to feeling insecure before that match and even thought about retiring.

"It crossed my mind, because of the moment it happened and because of my age. It was my first serious injury, it hit me hard because I couldn't move my leg and I couldn't take care of myself," he admitted.

According to the defender, when he returned with the U-20 team, he had discomfort and felt insecure, however, in his second appearance, he regained confidence and now he is confident in performing well.

"Since then I have felt good, the pain goes away during the match; then I had the opportunity to start against Chivas, we did it in a good way, and I am happy about that," he concluded.
