The coach of the Colombian national team, Carlos Queiroz, sent a message of solidarity to Santiago Arias, who suffered a terrible ankle injury at the beginning of the match against Venezuela.
"The injury was the big damage of the match, we are very sad. We spoke with him, with the club, so that the damage is as minimal as possible. The support will be total in everything we can do," said the Portuguese.
"We dedicate these three points, we did it for him. The most important thing about the match are the 3 points. Now we must compete and earn points until the final qualification," added the Colombian coach.
Carlos Queiroz made his debut with a victory in the South American qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The goals for the Colombian team were scored by Duván Zapata and Luis Fernando Muriel, both players from Atalanta in the Serie A of Italy.
