Players' break for World Cup qualifiers
The break for World Cup qualifiers will allow players to undergo physical conditioning for a series of matches that will begin on Friday, October 16th, in the debut for the Clausura against Nacional at Para Uno and then on Tuesday, October 20th, at 19:15 against Delfín from Ecuador for the Libertadores at the same stadium, with the mission of winning to advance to the round of 16.
Departures
Goalkeeper Joel Silva will not participate, as he has never been considered by Olimpia. He played in a friendly match and once sat on the bench, but has now terminated his contract and could move to Colombia.
Another player evaluating his departure, but only from the main squad, is Julio César Cáceres. The experienced defender, who turned 41 on Monday, has started considering leaving the field to enter the managerial sphere.
"I am preparing myself for many things, in sports, administration, and management. I had spoken to the board that I would stay until mid-year, but with the pandemic, we postponed it until the end of this year," analyzed Cáceres.
