Luis Aguiar, a Uruguayan midfielder who left Alianza Lima in mid-August due to strictly personal problems, has become a new player for Juventud de Las Piedras in the second division of Uruguayan football.
The club's coach, Alejandro Apud, was the one who convinced the 34-year-old player. The coach explained that he and his team sought out the player to let him know their intention to have him on the team.
"We went to his ranch to talk to him and explain our intention, and we were surprised by his humility and attitude towards us, which is typical of great footballers," said the strategist to Ovación, the sports supplement of the El País newspaper.
Juventud de Las Piedras will be the fifteenth team in Luis Aguiar's career. He previously played for Alianza Lima, San Martín de Tucumán, Plaza Colonia, Nacional, Sporting Braga, Peñarol, Vitória, San Lorenzo, Sporting de Lisboa, Dinamo Moscú, Académica Coimbra, Estrela Amadora, Liverpool, and Universidad Concepción.
