The selection of Chile, led by Colombian Reinaldo Rueda, lost one of its 'foreigners' ahead of the matches against Uruguay and Colombia, which will be played on October 8 and 13, respectively, for the start of the qualifications for the 2022 World Cup.
In a statement released by the National Professional Football Association (ANFP) of Chile, it is reported that the Medical Staff of the Chilean team released player Fabián Orellana from the call-up due to injury.
"The decision was made because the Medical Services of Real Valladolid Club have reported that Orellana has a left thigh muscle injury, whose recovery time exceeds the cycle of qualifying matches," says the statement from the ANFP.
Fabián Orellana, who joined Valladolid in July of this year from Eibar, was one of the 25 called-up players by coach Reinaldo Rueda in preparation for the start of the qualifying process.
