The Real Valladolid still does not know who will be its next coach
For now, they are trying to reach an agreement with Rubi, to whom they will have to pay the corresponding compensation, as well as the rest of his coaching staff (around 500,000 euros). They would try to delay the payment as much as possible so that the entity presided over by Carlos Suárez is more relieved in terms of the budget for signings for the current season.
Once that issue is resolved, Braulio will be in charge of closing the signing of the new coach.
Contact has already been made with potential candidates. The latest news is that Gaizka Garitano, former coach of Eibar, who was one of the most likely to take over the team's bench, is seriously considering not coaching in the next season.
The current range of coaches, without ruling out the possibility of a last-minute surprise, is occupied by three men:
Joaquín Caparrós: Currently without a team after being dismissed last year at Granada. His character and experience would be highly valued in Valladolid to try to promote the team to the First Division. Without a possible bench in the First Division, he could accept coaching in the Second Division for a team with aspirations like the "blanquivioleta".
Quique Setién: He has left Lugo after six successful years. His best credential is the possession-based football played by his teams. He promoted Racing Santander to the First Division. Braulio has already shown interest in him.
Luis César Sampedro: Years ago, he promoted Nastic de Tarragona to the First Division. Now, after promoting Albacete to the Second Division, in the last season he comfortably saved the team by playing good football. He meets several conditions that make him interesting for the position.
The following week, Valladolid wants to officially announce the name of its new coach.
