The FMF will be responsible for ensuring that BUAP receives payment for the sale of the franchise to Juárez

The Mexican Football Federation will be responsible for mediating the payment of 180 million pesos to the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla by Garden Teas de México, owned by Mario Mendívil, for the sale of the franchise to the Bravos de Juárez. This is because the FMF gave approval for the sale of the team after the Superior Court of Justice of Puebla ruled in favor of the university.

According to the sentence obtained by ESPN, the FMF must ensure that the payment of 180 million pesos is made in favor of BUAP by Garden Teas de México. This is because the Federation gave the "approval" for the sale of the club to the Bravos de Juárez, without the original owners receiving their settlement or having information about the terms of the operation.

According to the third chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Puebla, the payment of 90 million pesos that was made to BUAP for the sale of the team is "INSUFFICIENT". Now, Garden Teas de México must pay 180 million pesos to the University to make that transaction valid.

The sentence states that the 120 million pesos that were paid to keep the team playing in the Liga MX, as a fine to avoid relegation, should not be considered as part of the payment of the 180 million pesos that are now being demanded.

"

The expenditure called 'PAYMENT BUAP' of one hundred and eighty million pesos, independently of the immediately mentioned amount," reads one of the points of the sentence. "The dissent consisting in that the a quo confused the BUAP payment of one hundred and eighty million pesos, with the contribution of one hundred and twenty million pesos is unfounded, since from the complete reading of the relation under scrutiny, it is clear that there is no confusion regarding any of these concepts."

Now, the FMF must mediate for Garden Teas de México to fulfill the 180 million pesos owed to BUAP, and thus the operation that concluded with the sale of Lobos to the Bravos de Juárez can be free from any illegality.
