Wolverhampton announced on Saturday the signing of 18-year-old Portuguese striker Fabio Silva, for whom the club broke its own transfer record by paying 40 million euros ($47.35 million) to Porto; previously, the Wolves spent 34 million euros ($40.25 million) for Raúl Jiménez in 2019. The Portuguese player signed a five-year contract with Wolverhampton.

Silva becomes Nuno Espirito Santo's first signing for the 2020-2021 season. The striker played twelve matches in the top division of his country and scored one goal.
In 2019, Silva scored 33 goals in 39 matches with Porto's U19 team in the UEFA Youth League and with the Portuguese U19 national team, winning both titles. (D)
