SD Eibar announces new coaching staff additions
The official announcement from Sociedad Deportiva Eibar regarding the inclusion of Zaldibar in the armory bench is expected to be made in the coming hours. It appears that the coach from Vizcaya will arrive in the town of Guipuzcoa with his usual assistants, Iñaki Bea as his second in command, and Toni Ruiz as the fitness coach.
Although there were rumors in the past week that Mendilibar would have no objection to working with his former assistants from the Gaizka Garitano era, Patxi Ferreira and Iñaki Lafuente, who, like Derio, would be under contract with Eibar for another year if the team's stay in La Liga is confirmed, it seems that the future occupant of the Ipurua bench will have his regular technical staff.
'Mendi's' working relationship with Toni Ruiz dates back to 2002, when they both took charge of Lanzarote in the Segunda B division, and since then, the coach from Zaldibar and the Canary Islander have not parted ways.
Meanwhile, the partnership between the coach and Iñaki Bea is relatively new, as they have only worked together for two months, specifically since the start of the 2014/2015 season until both were dismissed from Levante last October. However, they were not complete strangers, as they shared a dressing room at Valladolid, one as a coach and the other as a defender. After finishing his professional career on the playing fields of Germany, and after working as a scout in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the Amurrio native did not hesitate when he received the call from his former boss to be his assistant last season.
