MEXICO -- This Monday, the representatives of UdeG, Correaminos, and Mérida held a meeting regarding their lawsuit against TAS for the cancellation of promotion and relegation in the so-called Liga de Ascenso.
The topic of the involved teams was purely strategic "and we are not going to comment on it at this time," said Francisco Ortega, president of Correcaminos, to ESPN Digital.
Francisco Ortega confirmed that starting from September 1, they will be waiting for TAS's resolution regarding their dissatisfaction.
"There is no specific date, but we know we will receive the response soon," said Francisco Ortega to ESPN Digital.
The aforementioned teams, which have already started their participation in the new Liga de Expansión Apertura 2020, are the only ones in the sector that decided to take legal actions as they feel harmed in their interests as affiliates to the Mexican Federation. Therefore, they filed a lawsuit against TAS in May, with the objective of bringing back the mentioned competition system to their respective category.
