Welcome to Galatasaray, Arda Turan
The Istanbul club Galatasaray welcomed midfielder Arda Turan on Friday and published some images of the player with his new jersey number.
With a tweet from "the Galatasaray family," the team presented Turan's jersey, number 66, and celebrated that the player has passed his medical tests successfully.
The midfielder returns to the team where he started his career nine years ago, this time with a one-year contract with the option to extend for a second season.
At the Istanbul club, he will once again coincide with El Tigre, Colombian forward Radamel Falcao, with whom he played at Atletico Madrid between 2011 and 2013.
Arda Turan has had a season of ups and downs, with eight months without a club after Barcelona terminated his contract.
The blaugrana club loaned the midfielder to the Turkish team Basaksehir, where he missed part of the league due to sanctions for off-field altercations, including a trial for assaulting a singer, for which he was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison, although he did not enter prison.
