The Uruguayan forward Pablo Lopez joined the Toluca training on Saturday and commented on his first days at the Mexican Diablos Rojos on the program Último al arco (Radio Sport 890 AM).

The former Defensor Sporting footballer made a great journey to reach Mexican lands due to the few flights due to the health restrictions in different countries: from Montevideo he traveled to Sao Paulo, then to Frankfurt (Germany), and after two and a half hours of waiting, he boarded a new plane bound for Mexico.

"There was a chance to connect Sao Paulo and the United States, but without the American Visa I couldn't take that flight; I was able to step foot in Europe," joked the 23-year-old Uruguayan, who also confessed that he traveled alone during those twenty-six hours, which made him feel 'nervous' but he was able to catch all the flights on time.

On Saturday, he already trained at the club's facilities and on Tuesday he participated in small-sided training with the rest of the squad. In addition, Lopez does separate aerobic work to acclimate better to the altitude.

"It's a year in which I have to dedicate myself 100 percent, I have to reach my best football version; the club pays attention to every detail, since I arrived they made me aware of what the team is and they gave me an introduction according to the club," highlighted Lopez.

The attacker arrived at Toluca on a one-year loan with an option to buy at the end of the loan. Regarding the link between the Mexican club and his compatriots, he commented: "Uruguayans are highly regarded by Ivan Alonso, Vicente Sanchez, Carlos Maria Morales, among others; they love Uruguayans; the last one was Leo (Fernandez) who they also love, the team has not been doing well, but he has excelled, I talked to him and he gave me good references of the teammates and the club."

Regarding his characteristics, he commented that he is already being compared to the playing style of Vicente Sanchez and that although he likes to accompany the number nine, he believes he will have to play more on the outside.

Lopez added: "I was talking to Chino Navarro and he told me that Mexican football is for me, because they play very fast, always trying to attack, if I manage to adapt to the altitude I think it will go well for me".

The right-footed footballer, who stands at 1.69 meters tall, has already been able to visit the Estadio Nemesio Diez and commented: "It is similar to La Bombonera, because the people are very close and because of the stands, it's a shame that we are going to play without fans, but when everything returns to normal it will be very beautiful".
