The TAS dismisses Santos' lawsuit against Barça for Neymar's signing
On Tuesday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) fully dismissed the lawsuit filed by Santos against FC Barcelona before FIFA, in which they claimed 61.2 million euros as compensation for damages and losses resulting from Neymar's signing.
Through an official statement, Barcelona informed that the TAS considered that the contract between Santos and the player was "mutually rescinded" and that the Catalan club did not violate the terms of the transfer when they paid additional amounts to the player's father and the company N&N.
In addition, according to the club chaired by Josep Maria Bartomeu, the TAS believes that Barcelona did not commit any fraudulent conduct when they signed the pre-agreement with Neymar Jr "nor when they signed the transfer agreement with Santos".
Finally, it was reported that the TAS ordered Santos to pay the procedural costs to Barcelona in a total amount of 20,000 Swiss francs (18,812.68 euros).
