League 1: Álvaro Barco reported that they did not let him participate in the meeting between the FPF and the clubs.

The sports manager of San Martin University pointed out the president of the Peruvian Football Federation, Agustín Lozano.

The sports manager of San Martin University pointed out the president of the Peruvian Football Federation, Agustín Lozano.

Álvaro Barco, Sports Manager of the University of San Martín, denounced that Agustín Lozano, president of the FPF, did not let him participate in the meeting between the FPF and the clubs of Liga 1 this Monday.

"Unfortunately, the University of San Martín could not participate in the meeting. We believe that, in an informative sports meeting, it is not appropriate for a federation president to discriminate. He has no right to decide who can and cannot attend," said Álvaro Barco in Capital Deportes.

"We all know who can represent in the best way and, in that sense, if they do not let me participate, even though I am the most active in football, it is because the directors of San Martín have many duties through the University and cannot attend a meeting. So, the logical thing was for me to participate. But here, the issues are personal and the Federation is managed in a personal way. Simply, he (Lozano) sent me a communication that only he understands, and unfortunately, I cannot participate," he added.

The Agreement

The FPF and the clubs of the top division agreed on Monday to resume the Torneo Apertura on July 31 without spectators, if the national quarantine due to the coronavirus has ended by that date.

Both parties also agreed that all pending rounds of the Torneo Apertura will be played in Lima to avoid travel and the risk of contagion from the pandemic.
