Inspection of Football Training Centers in Paraguay

The Inspection Directorate of Fields and the Medical Committee of the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) visited the training centers of three clubs to assess the progress in adapting the facilities for health protocols.

On Tuesday, inspections were carried out at Nacional, Sol de América, and Villa Olimpia, as part of the re-inspection for the start of phase 1 by the APF.

For Wednesday, visits to the Jardines del Kelito of River Plate, Feliciano Cáceres of Sportivo Luqueño, and Gunther Vogel of San Lorenzo are planned, according to the APF's official website.

According to the protocol, COVID-19 tests will be conducted on June 5, 6, and 7, and the players will begin home quarantine. Individual training will start on June 10, followed by small group training six days later. By June 22, collective training will be allowed.

If everything goes as planned, the Apertura tournament will resume on July 17 behind closed doors, following this progressive mobilization schedule for the teams and under strict measures supervised by health authorities.

The coronavirus, which has caused 11 deaths and 1,013 infections in Paraguay so far, led to the suspension of the tournament on March 13. At the time, Libertad was leading the table with 19 points, ahead of Olimpia, the four-time reigning champion, who had 4 points less.
