That's how Emelec's president, Nassib Neme, reacted forcefully against Rodrigo Paz and his son Esteban (lifetime president and president of Liga de Quito's Football Commission, respectively) after the revelations of Ángel Cheme, the footballer who ten years ago was accused of identity theft and was suspended for two calendar seasons while being part of the capital team.
Neme expressed himself firmly in an interview with Expreso newspaper on the morning of this Thursday, May 28, hours after the publication of the program "Fútbol Sin Cassette".
It turns out that Ángel Cheme confirmed that Liga de Quito did know about his identity theft in 2010.
"Liga found out before the trip to Japan to play the Suruga Bank Cup (in August 2010). So, Gonzalo Chila calls Patricio Torres, and he even goes to Rodrigo Paz's office to tell him that I am not Gonzalo Chila himself and presents his ID. He (Chila) went to Paz's office to ask for a sum (of money) because I was going to be transferred for 3 million dollars," said the former albo player to the program that is broadcasted on YouTube.
In this situation, Neme reacted with dismay upon learning about Cheme's statement, as the protagonist of this event played under the name of Gonzalo Javier Chila Palma for seven years in his football career, even with that identity he played in the final of the 2010 national championship against Emelec.
