Intermedia President Requests Free Coronavirus Tests
The Intermedia president, Victor Gonzalez, on behalf of the club presidents in the category, submitted a letter to the Ministry of Health requesting a free supply of 15,000 coronavirus tests.
The biggest issue for the clubs in this division is covering the cost of the tests, which are a strict requirement for the competition to take place. "We are taking steps to ensure that Intermedia can be played this year," said Gonzalez in a conversation with FALG.
"We submitted the letter with the intention of obtaining that assistance, as the cost of the tests is the main obstacle for Intermedia teams. None of them are in a position to pay," he explained.
Dr. Gerardo Brunstein, the medical chief of the Paraguayan Football Association (APF), revealed that he received a call from the Ministry of Health confirming that the request from Intermedia President Victor Gonzalez is not feasible.
However, there is another possibility that could benefit the Intermedia teams, which is a reduction in the cost of the tests. The price would go down from $100 to $10 per test. "It's good news that we will evaluate with the presidents of Intermedia," concluded Victor Gonzalez.
