Antonio Valencia, Jefferson Montero and Cristhian Noboa want to be part of the new process in the Ecuador national team, led by Spanish-Dutch coach Jordi Cruyff, after talks with Antonio Cordón, sports director of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF).

According to Esteban Paz, manager of Liga de Quito, "there is a good disposition of the players with the current coaching staff and it is moving forward so that they can smooth out these rough edges."

Montero and Noboa distanced themselves from the national team due to criticism from the fans after failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and internal problems with Carlos Villacís, who was the president of the FEF.

Valencia was also left out of the national team, along with Robert Arboleda, Alexander Domínguez, José Choclo Quintero, Ayrton Preciado and Arturo Mina, due to the party on the 17th floor of the Hilton Garden Hotel in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, after the elimination from the Copa América in Brazil 2019.

"I know it's on a very good path, that Antonio Cordón (sports director of the FEF) has spoken with Antonio Valencia. And not only with Valencia but with other overseas players who were in a difficult position with the former president of the FEF (Francisco Egas, who suspended them from the national team)," Paz said in a dialogue with Radio Cobertura.

About Egas' exclusion, Paz emphasized: "What was lacking there was good communication, solving the problems, and the situation we are experiencing did not help at all."

However, at the end of last year, the former president of the FEF had already announced that with the new coach, their inclusion would be analyzed and also emphasized: "The player who will join the national team will do so based on their performance and will have to comply with strict rules".(D)
