David Villa, former footballer of Barcelona and the Spanish national team, reviewed some moments of his career and acknowledged that he would have liked to play in the English Premier League, while highlighting Carles Puyol as the most difficult defender he faced throughout his professional years.
David Villa, all-time leading scorer of the Spanish national team, retired but very active in his relationship with the American club Queensboro, of which he is one of the owners, acknowledged that the former Barcelona defender, with whom he also shared a dressing room at Barza, was his strongest opponent on the field.
"I've had great defenders as rivals. The one who made things more difficult for me was Carles Puyol. When I had to play against him, I was very restless. He wasn't just very good... his characteristics greatly diminished mine. A taller or slower center-back suited me better. However, Puyol had characteristics that clashed with mine", said the Asturian forward through Instagram in a live chat on the Queensboro's account.
