The Royal Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) met remotely with the clubs on Tuesday and informed them that they have marked June 19 as the return date for the Eredivisie, provided that the government allows it.
The Dutch football governing body expects to confirm this date in two weeks when Mark Rutte's government announces whether measures against COVID-19 can be relaxed.
The proposed schedule is for the players to return to individual training on May 15, in small groups a week later, and the entire squad from May 29.
The remaining eight matchdays in the Eredivisie, nine in the case of some clubs, would be played between June 19 and July 31, meaning that some matches would have to be played midweek.
The 2020/21 season would start in the third week of August, about 20 days later than usual, so the federation has proposed to the clubs to imitate the English Premier League and play matches during Christmas.
