Biel Ribas, veteran goalkeeper of Fuenlabrada in the Spanish second division, immediately terminated his contract by not accepting the payment terms proposed by the club's president, Jonathan Praena. The goalkeeper rejected the proposal to receive his full salary month by month until June, but in exchange he would have to play for the remainder of the season once football resumes and until the extended date.

The statement reads as follows: "Biel Ribas and CF Fuenlabrada have reached an agreement to terminate the contract between both parties. This mutual agreement for the termination is effective immediately, therefore the goalkeeper is no longer part of our team."

The president offered this agreement to the players, but 3 footballers, led by Ribas, refused and prevented the team from signing it, arguing that they preferred not to be paid during the months of confinement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but for the rest of the time, when the Royal Spanish Football Federation gives the go-ahead for the return of football activity, the players would receive their regular salary as they have expenses and it would be unfair not to receive any remuneration.

The lack of understanding has caused discomfort with the management and has led the club to start processing the documentation for a Temporary Employment Regulation File. This file consists of the Spanish government paying 70% of the salary based on a calculation using the last 180 days of contributions. However, not all employees can benefit from this, as it will only be granted to those severely affected by the coronavirus.
