The Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, coach of Colombia, led a virtual meeting on Wednesday with the coaches of the youth teams to analyze the profiles of the players they will call up in the future.

At the meeting, held by video conference due to the global crisis caused by COVID-19, the coaches of the U-20, Arturo Reyes; U-17, Héctor Cárdenas; and U-15, Jorge Serna, participated, reported the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) in a statement.

Also present were the sports directors of the Colombian national teams, the former soccer player Mario Alberto Yepes, and of Development, Iván Novella, as well as Sebastián Amín, from the FCF's sports department.

The information added that "this meeting aimed to continue working towards unifying and improving the training processes in each category", as well as "searching for tools and strategies that allow the Colombian national teams to have better development".

"On the other hand, the profiles of the players who should be part of the Colombian national teams and the mechanisms through which they are being chosen were analyzed. Likewise, the current state of youth soccer in our country was reviewed," detailed the FCF.

The coaches, the Federation added, will continue to take advantage of the quarantine time, which began on March 25th and will end on April 13th in the country, "to develop projects for our Colombian national teams".

In the middle of last month, Queiroz traveled to Portugal to be with his family while the COVID-19 crisis is ongoing, which has reported 1,065 cases and 17 deaths in Colombia. EFE
