"'El Monito' Vargas had coronavirus, he was infected. I mainly spoke to know how he was in his physical condition. He felt good, he was calm," revealed the coach.

"He says that suddenly he started feeling tired, a little fever. He believed he could test positive because he already had several teammates with the virus. He took it calmly, as it had to be. He didn't leave his house, he didn't come into contact with anyone. They left him the groceries at the door, he was very aware," he assured.

Batista said that the 22-year-old forward is already recovered and "now he is well."

Argentinians who tested positive for coronavirus

Espanyol reported on March 17 that six members of their squad, including players and coaching staff, had tested positive for coronavirus. Germán Pezzella from Fiorentina, Ezequiel Garay from Valencia, and Paulo Dybala from Juventus are the other players who have or had the COVID-19 coronavirus.
