Máximo Banguera
, current goalkeeper of El Nacional, confessed that at some point he would like to return to Barcelona SC, the club where he stayed for 10 uninterrupted seasons between 2009 and 2019.
"When it comes to Barcelona, I want to return to any place that is like a player or as an executive. At any moment I will do it and I will return," the goalkeeper told Radio Huancavilca.
"(Members of the yellow leadership) called me but asked how I was, I really don't have a bad relationship with anyone from Barcelona," he added.
The former Espoli goalkeeper wants to be called up again to join the national team. "The Cruyff coaching staff visited the El Nacional complex, we talked for about 20 minutes and also with Pancho Reinoso. Being at El Nacional was important to be closer to the national team," he said.
Banguera recalled an anecdote he had with Damián Díaz during his time at Barcelona after eliminating Palmeiras in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores 2017. "After the penalties, at that moment I told Kitu Díaz that we all make mistakes, that it was part of the game. I told him that he had saved me many times and that now it was my turn to give him a hand." (D)
