Nelson Cuevas, former player of River Plate and the Paraguay National Team, visited Ronaldinho in prison in Paraguay, where the Brazilian star has been detained for 10 days for entering the country with a fake passport.
"I want to give tremendous support to this genius who made history in world football, and say that there are Paraguayans who support him with everything," said 'Pipino' Cuevas on his Twitter account.
However, Cuevas acknowledged in an interview with Infobae that the former Barcelona star and World Cup champion is "sad" for losing his freedom along with his brother Roberto.
"He is sad. Hopefully he can get out soon. He is only sad about the situation. His lawyers handle everything else, hopefully he will get out of there soon," said the 40-year-old Paraguayan.
It should be noted that the Appeals Chamber in Paraguay rejected the appeal filed by Ronaldinho on Friday, who on March 4 entered Paraguay with fake passports through the Asuncion international airport.
