AJPW, A New Departure: Yoshinobu Kanemaru Says Goodbye

The situation at AJPW worsens as a new departure further weakens its already thin roster of fighters. Now it is Yoshinobu Kanemaru who announced his departure from the long-standing company once his contract ends on December 15.

Kanemaru, a prominent member of the under 100kg division, held the Jr. Heavyweight Championship and the All Asia Tag Team Championship.

Just as we already mentioned, changes in contracts turned out to be disadvantageous for Kanemaru as well. Like his four predecessors who left AJPW (KENSO, Go Shiozaki, Akebono, and Kotaro Suzuki), the fighter will work independently until he finds a better job opportunity.

In response to this departure, Jun Akiyama, president of the company, simply stated that he will work very hard with the remaining gladiators. Despite the situation, he does not despair as he intends to bring out the best in the fighters who are still on the roster. Among his plans is to make room for new talent and create an ideal environment for growth and development. Undoubtedly, a very difficult task, but one that will require all of his dedication and creativity to keep a company with a great wrestling tradition afloat.
