Due to the coronavirus epidemic, North Korea has decided to cancel the Pyongyang Marathon, which was scheduled to take place on April 12. The news was announced by tour operators 'Young Pioneer' and 'Koryo', who confirmed that their travel partners in North Korea had informed them that the race would not be held.
'Koryo' stated that they received "official confirmation today, Friday" that the cancellation was due to "the current closure of the North Korean border and the situation of the COVID-19 virus in China and its larger region."
It should be noted that North Korea has not yet reported any cases of this virus, but has decided to close all borders and has extended quarantine periods to 30 days, which is mandatory for all foreigners living in the country.
