The last day of the transfer market in Europe always brings surprises and some setbacks, which Manchester United attempted, but with little success. The English club desperately searched for a new striker and to achieve it, they set a controversial condition.
According to 'The Athletic', with only a few hours left, Manchester United president Ed Woodward unexpectedly called Bournemouth president Neill Baker and gave him an ultimatum: "You have fifteen minutes to tell us if you accept the offer (30 million euros) or we will sign a player from China," the English leader said.
The striker that Manchester United was looking for was Joshua King, however, Bournemouth did not accept this offer and in the end, the 'Red Devils' signed Nigerian Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua in China.
