The new injury suffered by Ousmane Dembélé has worsened FC Barcelona's offensive problems
The team is currently coping with the absence of Uruguayan Luis Suárez. Although the winter transfer market closed last week, if the RFEF categorizes Dembélé's injury as long-term, the Catalan team will be able to recruit a new forward. However, this player must be playing in the Spanish league or be without a team.
In the past few hours, after considering several candidates, the newspaper Sport has assured that, if they are able to sign a new player, Barcelona will finally choose Ángel Rodríguez. Currently linked to Getafe until 2021, the experienced striker has a release clause of only €10M, a really affordable amount for the Blaugrana team.
The 32-year-old player from Tenerife has scored 13 goals and provided one assist in the 27 official matches he has played this season. This is undoubtedly an interesting figure, especially considering that he has often had to wait for his opportunity on the bench (he has only started in 6 matches in the league).
Mundo Deportivo is less decisive. According to this newspaper, Barcelona is still considering a wide list of alternatives, which recently added Galicians Lucas Pérez (Deportivo Alavés, 31 years old) and Borja Iglesias (Real Betis, 27), as well as Uruguayan Christian Stuani (Girona, 33). The latter has actually been linked to the Blaugrana team in recent days. Who will be the chosen one in the end?
