Carlos Zambrano is already a player for Boca Juniors and coach Miguel Ángel Russo has confirmed it by referring to the center-back in his latest press conference as his second signing in the transfer market. The 'León' has already passed his medical exams and will be officially announced by the club in the next few hours.
"I haven't spoken to him, we'll talk later. We'll look for the best way. I know what he's been doing because he's been training with the Peruvian National Team, I know that Gareca left him people. We are aware of a lot of things that we will discuss with him. He is a player we wanted, we were looking for, and he will fit in," said Russo regarding Zambrano's situation before signing for the Xeneizes.
Boca's coach highlighted the trajectory of the central defender, who has spent his entire career in Europe, in addition to his time with the national team under Ricardo Gareca, to which he returned in the 2019 Copa America.
"He is a starter in the Peruvian National Team, he has played in Europe, he has experience, he is fit, and we will look for the best from him. This is a competitive squad and that's what we are looking for," he added.
Carlos Zambrano has already been seen in Buenos Aires and went to the clinic where he passed his medical exams with Marcelo 'Chelo' Delgado, who is a member of the club's board of directors.
