After debuting with a hard-fought victory against Granada (1-0), the new coach of FC Barcelona, Cantabrian Quique Setién, will meet today with the board to analyze the different movements that the Catalan club could still make during the winter transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, during the meeting they will discuss the possible incorporation of a new center forward who can fill the void left by the now injured Luis Suárez. The club's sports director, Eric Abidal, has already done some initial scouting and will take the opportunity to present different alternatives.
The list managed by the executive does not have room for Paco Alcácer (Borussia Dortmund), but it does include other attackers as diverse as Pedro Rodríguez (Chelsea), Dani Olmo (Dinamo Zagreb), or Krzysztof Piatek (AC Milan). The three of them, for one reason or another, are within reach of the Culés, although it is true that the signings of the latter two would be considerably more expensive than that of the first one.
Furthermore, during the face-to-face meeting, the board and the coaching staff will analyze the possible departure of Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic, players who have offers from Inter Milan and Juventus, and PSG, respectively. Since both were starters in Setién's debut, their departure seems complicated. Abel Ruiz, on the other hand, has more chances of leaving the team as he has received an interesting loan proposal from Sporting Lisbon and does not seem to be part of the new coach's plans.
