Former Barcelona player Javier Mascherano included in Estudiantes' friendly matches

Estudiantes' coach Gabriel Milito fielded Mascherano in the first of two line-ups against Defensores de Cambaceres, a team that plays in the fourth division of Argentinean football.

Both matches, each lasting 40 minutes, were played at the Jorge Luis Hirschi Stadium, a brand new venue inaugurated by the club last year after renovations carried out under the leadership of Juan Sebastián Verón.

The friendly match, in which Javier Mascherano participated, ended with a 2-0 victory for Estudiantes, thanks to goals by Ángel González and Uruguayan Martín Cauteruccio, another addition to the squad during this summer transfer window.

In the second match, Estudiantes' second team defeated Cambaceres 4-0 with goals from Mateo Retegui (twice), Federico González, and Diego García.

Estudiantes, currently in thirteenth position in the Superliga, will visit San Lorenzo on Saturday, January 25, as the tournament resumes. There are seven matchdays left until its conclusion.
